Fostering

FOSTERING
Did you know that you can foster animals? You are most likely wondering what fostering is. Well I'll tell you, it is a program where you can babysit dogs and cats. By doing that you leave an empty space in the shelter for other stray dogs and cats ,so they don't have to be put to sleep. When you participate  not only you will have fun with your dog or cat you will save one too. But always there is a sad part you have to bring your foster animal back to their owners, but you will have a fun time with your pet. Now we have the I in NSIA news tell you some dog and cat tips for you.
Dogs

  • if you want a cute dog pick a puppy(young) if you don't want a dog chewing on your fingers, going potty in the house, or a dog who gets so exited he/she walks you, don't get a puppy(young)
  • Not all dogs know how to play  fetch so you might have to play tug-a-war to get the toy back.
  • Don't let puppies on the coach, rug or bed they will go to the bathroom on it and leave you a big stain.
  • Give them one treat a day if they do good.
  •  they need lots of attention and play time, that will be fun!!
  • They are great at cuddling!!!
Cats

  • Kittens cannot leave their mother for the first six weeks of life.
  • Kittens should not have dry food until they are older than two months.
  • Kittens provide love and companionship to new owners, but need special care to ensure they grow up healthy and strong.
  • Whether caring for a newly adopted kitten, fostering one or caring for a young kitten abandoned by its mother, provide the little one with the nutritional and medical care it needs. A kitten also requires proper socialization and time to bond with you in its new environment. Provide your young cat with a good start in life by caring for it properly and ensuring its safety
  • don't allow cats to eat grapes or chocolate.
  •  Cats do have an independent streak, but they still require a certain level of care to keep them happy              and healthy.
  • Kittens require more rigorous care than adult cats.

Well that is all I have for you today!!!!
